This long katana has a very strong look to it and is very stout. The shape is elegant and the blade is wide. The suguba hamon and the subdued ko-itame hada make this sword very elegant looking and not flashy, typical of Japanese taste. The hada is very well forged and is milky looking. Hataraki are found on in the hamon. This sword would be nice to send thru shinsa some day but can be appreciated as is or can make for a fine quality Iaido katana.
The mounts are original to this sword. the handle is sound and wrapped in silk. The say has some lacquer chipping from it but is not split. Overall this sword is a very nice old katana in original mounts.
