This daisho is from the Edo period.   The Koshirai is in very good condition, no damage on either of the saya at all.
They are lacquered (possibly restored in Japan years ago) in a gloss black  that is very nicely done.  Both Tsuka have a high grade Same and are wrapped in a string Tsukamaki that is very good quality.  The Tsukamaki (handle wrap) is also in top condition.  This Daisho is not a fancy set, but is more subtle and elegant.  The matching Fuchi and kashira are shakudo mixed with gold.  The matching Tsuba are also in great condition and add to the overall beautiful koshirai.  The motif of the koshirai are rabbits.

This Dai-to is from the bungo takada den.  The overall quality is good.   The hada is well forged and has some coarseness to it as in found on bungo swords at times.  The hada has a milky appearance and is very active.  The hamon has many hataraki and many nie throughout the hamon add the the beauty of this Daito.

This Sho-to is in great shape.  There are many Hataraki that are very clearly visible and enjoyable to look at in the hamon.  This nicely made Wakazashi has a very pleasant milky hada, making it even more interesting and a fine complement to the Katana.

Overall this is a very interesting set of swords with matching carved dragons on the blades.
