Signed by HOSHITANI YOSHINAGA. I cannot find him in a book but know that he is a smith from the WWII era.
This is a navel mounted WWII daito. Naval mounts are generally more desirable to military collectors because of there scarcity. The blade has some staining but overall it is in good shape. The hamon is oil tempered and has a nice healthy look to it. Overall this is a nice WWII collectable.
