This is a koto wakazashi from the muromachi era in original mounts. The hada is forged very well and is in the yamato tradition. The hamon is elegant and has fine hataraki (activity). This is a fine Yamato example wakazashi. Yamato is one of the five main line schools of old swords (yamashiro, yamato, bizen, soshu, and mino). This sword is polished and has a very well made, expensive two piece gold foiled habaki.
