This sword is a kodachi and is koto.  The work and signature reflect sagami hiromitsu but there were a few smiths that signed Hiromitsu so it is very difficult to know exactly who the smith is that made this old sword.  The work has a strong soshu feel to it.  The hada is rich with activity.  A little opening is visible on the blade but for its age its understandable on this particular sword.  The hamon is also nicely made with good hataraki.
