There were a few smith that signed in this way during the koto era around the 1500's.  These were all good smiths from the Bizen province.  This spectacular tanto has a very attractive yet classic style.  The activity in the hamon is very abundant.  This blade has many hataraki, ara nie, nio, ashi and many more.  The hada is well forged and for such an old sword it is in very good shape and very healthy.  This is a fine Bizen Tanto from the koto era.
