This is a very fine example of a second to third generation Tamba No Kami Yoshimichi. Its sometimes difficult to tell one from the other. The workmanship is exactly what you want to see in a fine quality Yoshimichi sword. The hada is hard and dark with well forged ko-mokume mixed with some masame. The hamon also is done in the sudare-ba style made famous by the Tamba yoshimichi group. This sword dates back to the 1600's and comes in excellent condition and polish with mounts.

KOSHIRAI
Please not that this sword is a wakazashi mounted in katana mounts. The swords saya is made for this wakazashi and will
not fit a longer sword in it.During the history of the samurai merchants were allowed to own wakazashi but not katana. In literature you can find information that merchants wore swords that looked long but in the mounts was a wakazashi not a katana.
~It is important to note that this sword with these mounts is historically valuable and interesting~
This wakazashi comes polished in shirasaya and is accompanied with its mounts and a tsunagi (wooden sword)
This sword is on consignment.
