There were three generations of Bungo Takada Muneyuki, ranging from Tensho (1573-1592) to Meireki (1655-1658). The signature on this blade appears to be from the first generation. It is a very fine sword with no flaws. The activity in the hamon is more than abundant and can only be truly appreciated in hand but the picture shows the beautiful activity within the hamon. The hada is milky looking and forged very well. This is a fine example of a long, signed ubu shinto katana with excellent mounts.
