KANEHIRO TÔTÔMI NO KAMI [KYÔHÔ 1716 HIZEN] SHINTÔ CHÛJÔSAKU

                He is the son of Yamato no Daijô Kanehiro and is the nidai Kanehiro.   The soemei of "FUKUBE TETSUZÔ" shows that it is a type of nanban tetsu.

There were three Kanehiro from Hizen. The work on this sword appears to be from the first generation but it's impossible to be sure.  The sword is very beautiful in shape and style.  The hada is well forged and rich looking. The hamon has fine quality hartaraki and this sword has very interesting mounts with Tokugawa mon in the lacquer work.
