There is only one Musashi Yasusada listed in the meikan. He also signed as SHÔSAI YASUSADA, and TARÔ YASUSADA. He was in the Mon of Musashi Tarô Yasukuni, and was the son of Shitahara Toshinaga. His real name was Ide Asauemon. He worked around Shôtoku (1711-1716).
This is a very lovely Nagamaki. Normally you find many naginata but few nagamaki especially this long so it is a very good pole arm for a collector. The work on this long blade is very fine. The hada is rich looking and well forged. The hamon is notare/suguba and is elegant with a fine nio. We highly recommend a shirasaya for this nagamaki. The pole is also interesting with a hooked tsuba for protection. This is a very nice pole arm for a collector.
