Blade:
Mino school swords were desirable because of there fame of cutting well. The is a Jumyo school katana that is rather long and very sound. It has course hada in places. The hada is itame and forged well with a dark appearance to the steel. the hamon has a large amount of hataraki/ activity and is very nicely done. The shape of this katana is graceful and well balance and is a fine example of a shinto era katana.
Mounts:
The mounts on this blade should receive papers also as they are very good. The koshirai is all matching and made by the same person. The fittings are subtle but very detailed in the inlay work. The saya is beautifully lacquered in a unique style and is sound. The saya has no splits and has some wear from carrying in the belt. The mounts on this sword is very good quality samurai style, elegant and deep not flashy.
