MASAYUKI TAKADA [JÔKYÔ 1684 BUNGO] SHINTÔ CHÛSAKU

Signature:              HÔSHÛ TAKADA JÛ FUJIWARA MASAYUKI

This signed wakazashi is a fine example of a Takeda school sword made by masayuki.  Masayuki is listed as a smith from jokyo era 1684 forward.  This sword has some minor course hada and has also some very densely forged hada.  The color of the steel is milky looking and is well forged.  The hamon is very well done and the habuchi is well made.  The hamon has many hataraki/activity that add to the quality of the blade.  The Takeda school swords were very well respected as functional swords that cut very well.
