Fujishiro:

TSUNAHIRO KANZAEMON [BUNKA 1804 SAGAMI] SHINSHINTÔ CHÛJÔSAKU

He is the twelfth generation Tsunahiro, and this smith was in the Suishinshi Masahide Mon.  This was an opportunity for a revival of the old (swords), and he tempered with the hitatsura and midareba of the Sôshû Den.  Even though the ji is ô-itame hada, the feeling of the shinshintô is strong in both the ji and ha.  He died on Tenpô Gannen (1830) Jûgatsu Nanoka (10/7), and occasionally horimono he himself made are seen.

This is a Soshu school katana made by Tsunahiro.  This generation was highly rated "ChuJoSaku" in the Fujishiro shinto book.  He was known for well made horimono/carvings that he did himself.  The quality of this katana is very evident in the pictures and in hand it is even better.  The carved dragon is very bold and deeply cut and is in excellent shape.  The hada on this sword is exquisite and crystal clear with a little darkness to it that adds to the beauty of this sword.  The activity in the hamon is incredible.  This katana is also original length and measures a long 29 inches.  If this sword was signed by the smith it would be beyond the reach of many collectors so its a great opportunity to own a sword of this quality in mounts.
