This wakazashi has a feel of Owari school or even early mino school workmanship.  It should be submitted to shinsa for further examination.  It should receive good papers.  Unfortunately the pictures to not do justice to this sword.  The hamon is very nicely done with a thick nioi-guchi.  It has hataraki and some ara-nie.  The hada is very well forged and is milky looking in color.  This early wakazashi also has an elegant shape and is very well balanced.  The mounts are good with a blue handle wrap and a lovely saya.  The lacquer on this saya is rich looking and in very good shape for its age.  The fittings are dragons and display very well.  Overall this is a fine Japanese wakazashi.
