An outstanding sword by the Owari smith Nobu Taka. There are several generations all mentioned in Fujishiros. They were all outstanding smiths and this sword is a brilliant example of a koto masterpiece emulation. From the deep curvature to the subtle workmanship of the steel itself. The koshirae is a very high quality attesting to the quality of the blade also.

The Koshirae has a deeply carved saya of a large leafy motif. The floral pattern on the fuchi kashira are of mino style. The menuki are  foliage and the tsuba are Shi-shi frolicking in foliage also. There are petals on the iron kodzuka with a handforged tempered kodzuka blade. The Sageo and Tsukaito are a brilliant purple that jumps off the mounts and is an eye catcher.

The blade itself is a masterful sugu-ha, just peppered with ara-nie and small activities throughout emulating the great old mino blades of past. The hada is so fine and well worked of ko-itame with mokume. It is covered in ji-nie and has an oily appearance that is found in the best of blades. A rare package!!
