This beautifully lacquered exquisitely made Tanto comes in a very nice older polish. The hamon is extremely subtle with a togare-ba temper. This blade was made in the mino style probably from the Shinshinto era prior to this century. The hada is a masame and very finely done. The sword still shows off the blades fine qualities even in an older polish such as this. The blade has the HIRA-ZUKURI shape.
The koshirae is a mix of beautiful lacquer work with a turtle and crane motif and appears to be from the Shinshinto era. A beautiful ribbed saya with exquisite lacquering that is signed, this package is complete and well made finished with a beautiful gold sageo.
