The blade comes mounts with original mounts from when it was shortened. The blade itself is an exciting blend of Notare and Gunome with a beautiful thick frosting nie and nioi. The itame hada is tightly forged and very well made. This blade is a beauty to behold. It is documented as Nambamtetsu or foreign steel making this sword even more interesting.
