This is a very beautiful katana in original old polish. It has an abundance of activity within the temper line (hamon) that gives this sword a very well balance look. The forged steel (hada) is also very well made and is in the itame style. The quality of this sword is high and it comes with original mounts that are also very elegant. The lacquer color is in the satsuma style and the handle has a unique style of silk wrapping not commonly found. The papers are attributing this blade to the echizen seki school of swordsmiths. Echizen blades were well know for their cutting abilities. Many samurai took pride in carrying a reliable sword like this one.
