This sword was a very early katana mounted later to be carried in WWII by a Japanese soldier. The soldier must have had it in his family for many generations. Many Japanese soldiers in the day wanted to carry ancestral swords to war. It was at some point confiscated and brought home by an American soldier. The quality is good and the temper/hamon is active and well done. If this sword were in a fresh polish it would look even better. This blade is forged well and also comes with papers attesting to its age, school and quality.
