Kashu Ietada is a well known smith from the kaga province. This katana is almost 29" long and is a very healthy blade. These swords were famous for their cutting abilities. The hamon/temper on this blade is very active with many hataraki and is also healthy. The hada/steel is course and active and is very much forged in the kashu tradition. This sword in a fresh polish would be even more beautiful but the condition as is still shows well all the work within this fine sword. The mounts are all in a dragonfly motif and all made as a set. Mounts like this are not easily found so it adds greatly to this sword overall.
