This long Koto era sword (1500's) has a very lovely sugata/shape and is very healthy for its age. The hada is course in in some areas as many koto kaga blades are. The hada is a mix of itame and nagare. the hamon is very active and looks even better in hand. The nakago is original and not cut down or altered. The overall shape and look of this early blade is very elegant and reminiscent of the fine older blades. It comes with a solid silver habaki and a shirasaya with sayagaki/writing and a inlay in ivory for the horn pin/mekugi. It comes with papers and is completely in restored condition adding to its collectable appeal.
