This is an exquisite Katana made by the first generation Bitchu Yasuhiro. He was the highest rated smith of all the smiths in his lineage. This sword was awarder the higher Toukubetsu papers from the NBTHK in Japan. It is very clear to see why this sword received such high papers. The chogi hamon is excellently made and has many hataraki/activaty within it. The hada is very silky and well forged. The is a wonderfully example of the smiths work. The shirasaya has received a sayagaki by Tanobe-san of the NBTHK, and also has a very well made two piece gold foiled habaki. The mounts on this sword are elegant and complement the swords well. Overall this is a higher end collectable Japanese samurai sword.
