This is the second generation inaba tadakuni and is a highly rated smith. This smith was known for making very sharp blades that at the time was a very important aspect of a sword. This sword is signed and dated and comes with papers. The workmanship on this sword is very good and a full polish and shirasaya is highly recommended for this sword some day but it can be appreciated in the condition it is in now. The hada/steel is very well forged and the hamon has good activity.
Please also note that this sword has received sword cuts in the back and sides of this blade as it was used to defend the owner from getting cut. These marks should not be polished out as they are a very interesting and appealing part of this swords history proving that it has been used in a battle.
