This is a koto era tanto made in the mino tradition of swordsmithing.  It comes with mounts that are in good condition.  This blade is well made and has no flaws for such an old tanto.  The overall shape is that of a early tanto and is in a good polished condition.  The hamon has good work and activity and the hada is silky and forged tightly with masame hada in places.  This blade comes in original mounts and with a paper attesting to is quality, age and lineage.
