This is a very fine tanto with interesting and original mounts. The kogarasu shape is not a commonly found blade style. This sword is sharp on both sides. On the back the sharp edge goes down half way on the blade. The quality of the forging or hada is self evident and even shows a interesting mokume circle in part of the ji that adds to this tanto's quality. The hamon is bright and active and follows the cutting edge nicely around the point. A signed and dated blade that is well made and papered with good mounts like this in this style is a good find for any collector. The saya has origami designs hand painted on top of the black lacquer and the rest of the fitting are in great shape also.
