This sword was papered as a shin-shinto sword but really appears to be koto not shin-shinto. The sword was papered in a poor condition back in 2012 but has been polished since. It would be interesting to see what new papers would say on this sword now in good polish. The hamon is very active and bright. The hada is tightly forged and shows some ji-niei. The overall feel and balance is elegant as in the early or mid koto era. The mounts are also very extravagant and are of dragon motif. The saya has minor dings and scuffing but is sound and not split. This is a very good quality sword with papers and comes mounted.
