Restoration evaluation:
This sword looks very sound and
has a 90% chance to polish out perfectly.
This takeda blade is well made and is waiting to be polished. After polish this sword will really stand out and the hamon and hada will be even more attractive to view in hand. You can see many good hataraki in the hamon even in this condition. The mounts are meiji and are some what different than what we normally see. This sword already has a paper from the NBTHK so all it needs is proper restoration to bring it back to its original beauty.

There is nothing in the Meikan in reference to TAIRA TAKADA. However, there is a write up in the English translation of the Nihon To Koza, Volume 3, on Page 359.This sword is on consignment.
