This is a very nice 1600's Takeda school Muneyuki katana. This is by the Nidai or second generation Muneyaki. The hamon has an abundance of hataraki/activity. You can find many ashi and a multitude of sunagashi throughout. The quality of this sword is very good and has a well balanced shape. It has a well forged hada in mokume/masame nagare style. Takeda school sword were very prized for being very good cutting blades. This sword comes with its mounts and a shirasaya has been made to preserve the sword in good condition. NTHK papers also come with this sword attesting to the swords age and quality also.
