This is a very good quality koto tanto with original horimono/carvings. The blade is rather wide and healthy. The hamon is active with many fine hataraki/activity. The hada is well forged and is O-itame with a silky appearance to it. The carving is in good shape as is the hada for such an old sword. This blade is in a shirasaya with a great quality horn inlay. The sword comes with mounts that are in matching spider motif. Matching fitting like this are not found easily and this should be noted as they are very nice. The overall feel and look of this rather long tanto is that of quality and beauty. This blade also comes with papers attesting to the signature and quality.
