This is a long katana this is from the late edo era and is in good condition. The saya has been restored and is sound. The hada is very active and appealing looking. the hamon is active and overall this is a very balance blade and is a good example of a katana from the samurai era. It would be a good idea to submit this sword for papers some day as it would add to its overall value. The handle is original and the silk for the most part is in good condition but is starting to fray a little, so it must be handled carefully.
