Wakizashi by Daidō (Mino Seki School)
Daidō is said to be the grandson of Noshu Muroya Seki Ōtomo, a distinguished swordsmith whose large and powerful works remain popular among collectors.
This wakizashi, attributed to Daidō and dating to the Keichō era (1596–1615), is a fine example of robust Mino workmanship. The blade shows the strength and vitality typical of the Seki tradition — a sound, well-forged piece that reflects both skill and confidence in execution.
While there are minor natural imperfections, Master Tanobe has praised Daidō’s work as highly representative of the renowned Mino Seki school, acknowledging it as a product of considerable merit.
