SHOBU-ZUKURI WAKAZASHI (fss-974)

This Koto-era wakizashi features a classic shobu-zukuri style blade with an elegant curvature. In an older polish, it would benefit from professional re-polishing to fully reveal its beauty. A small kizu near the ha-machi, which can be repaired by a specialist, adds authenticity and character. Despite this, the blade displays refined forging techniques, with a subtle hamon and well-defined hada typical of its period.

Given its age, the sword is an authentic example of Koto craftsmanship. A proper appraisal and thorough assessment should be conducted after a professional polish to determine its exact origin and value.

Overall, this wakizashi offers a significant piece of Japan’s sword-making heritage, with excellent potential for restoration and collection that comes with mounts.
