This sword was a katana originally. Now it’s a very interesting long wakizashi with an active hamon. If it were 1/8″ longer it would still be clarified as a katana. This hamon is a large choji /O-gunome midare with Tobyaki. The blade is covered in ji-nie. The boshi is almost ichimei with Kaen/hakikae. This blade would be spectacular in a fresh polish. A great entry level sword for restoration. The hada is also loaded with activity and is made up of a dense itame/mokume nagare with masame nagare also. Ji-nie abounds. This blade is mumei O-suriage with 2 mekugi ana. This blade is accompanied by a full set of koshirae that is very utilitarian in nature. The Tsuka-ito is an olivish brown ans the sageo is brown. The saya is a mottled black lacquer finish. the menuki and fuchi has a dragon on it. The tsuba is iron. There is a kojiri and handachi style accoutrement on the saya.
