This is a very interesting wakazashi from the ShinShinto period which reminds one of the Mino or Bizen tradition of the late koto era but has a bit of a soshu feel to it. It is in a very nice polish.  The overall sugata of this sword is on the straighter side with a slight sori and the hamon is loaded with activity.  The hamon contains an abundance of beautiful activity, and the hamon is in a  gunome / midare style . Sunagashi, Kinsuji and Ji-nie can be found and is well made.  The hada has an itame / mokume mix and with some areas of O- hada mixed in.  This blade comes with mountings.  The furniture of the koshirae are made of iron and copper. There are gold highlights and in good condition. The Tsuba is iron also with a shishi or puppies frolicking design and the fuchi and kashira are a shishi and a floral motif. The menuki are of tigers. The Sageo and Ito are brown and the saya lacquer is finished in a high gloss black lacquer. Note the older black lacquered same . The blade is ubu and signed Nobushige Saku.  We found only one smith that signed this way in this era.  It would be recommended to submit for shinsa at some point.  We are not a shinsa team and cannot guarantee the signature but it appears to be a good signature and not fake.   The kissaki is a longish chu-kissaki and ko-maru boshi with a bit of kaen.  The saya is of a black lacquer and is completely restored to keep the polish of the sword in good condition.  The blade is signed Nobushige saku and the habaki is a gold wash with matching gold seppa.  This sword is a wonderful package with a beautiful blade.
