Koto Bizen Sword (fss-923)

 

This sword is a based in suguha with a gunome- midare mix. There is fine nie to be seen as well as ji-nie. The blade is Sue-Bizen Koto blade made in the Tenbun era (1532-1555). This sword shows good bizen work and it shows good Utsuri. The hada is an itame mokume blend with Ji-nie thru out. The boshi is ko-maru with gunome. This blade is ubu. With one hole and has an outstanding sori and a real beauty to look at. The menuki are military with a special mon in the middle, The fact that its Koshi-sori makes one feel this is a old Tachi and not a katana.  This sword has a lot of potential for restoration and shinsa and is over 29″ long and ubuThis koshirae is in mint condition. It was mounted with an ancestral blade of extremely good quality.

The military koshirae is of quite good quality. The tsuba is pierced and the scabbard is in pristine condition. The kashira of high quality and the habaki is 2-pieced in silver and gold with intricate carvings. This sword would be a spectacular piece in a new polish.

This sword comes with NTHK papers that confirm school of production, age and quality.
