A fine old Koto era sword in military mounts.
This koshirae is in mint condition aside from some scuffing on the leather. It was mounted with a long ancestral blade of extremely good quality and a rarity of a find. The original military koshirae is of quite good quality. The tsuba is pierced and the leather covering of the saya is pristine. The kashira has a family mon and the habaki is washed in silver. This long sword is very long and would be a spectacular piece in a new polish. The mounts come with a surrender tag which is very interesting. This koshirae was mounted with an ancestral blade of good quality and a rarity of a find but is in need of a polish. The original military koshirae is of good quality. The tsuba is pierced and you will find a beautiful mint scabbard underneath the leather covering. The saya appears to be nickel plated and looks excellent. The kashira has a family mon of cross Hatched feathers and the habaki is in silver. This long sword needs a new polish and mounted in shirasaya. The sword is a based in suguha with a gunome- midare mix. The blade is Koto and appears to have Utsuri. The hada is an itame mokume blend with some nagare elements. The boshi is ko-maru. This blade was shortened and still retains a good length. The tang has 4 holes. This blade is an older family Tachi or Daito that was remounted for the war.
